A rare Gothic Lower Rhine gilt carved oak and polychrome figure of Saint Peter 'the Prince of the Aposteles'. Carved in almost full round, the bearded figure wearing the triple tiara as first pope and sitting on a cathedra, holding in his left hand the keys, raising his right hand in blessing, his rope sweeping across his body and fastening at the chest with the remains of a hexagonal brooch. The polychrome was probably renewed in the 16th century and consists of rich floral motives and brocade, the two medaillons depicting Christ and the Virgin Mary. Price on request..
